Creation of a smart city specialized complex
In order to foster smart city innovation industries, this area is designated and developed in accordance with Article 29 of the Act on the Creation of Smart Cities and Industrial Promotion, etc. as a strategic support area for research and development of smart city technologies and demonstration of smart city services.
A total of 2025 local governments applied for the "6 Smart City Specialized Complex Development Project," resulting in a competition rate of 6:1. The selected Daegu Metropolitan City will receive 3 billion won in national funds (national funds: local funds = 80:1 matching) over 1 years.

- Establishment of a specialized zone for future city service demonstration based on advanced digital infrastructure
- Supporting the growth of urban tech companies based on AI+α (AI-based semiconductor, 5G, IoT, big data fusion technology) technology
- Building an ecosystem for large-scale demonstration and public-private collaborative R&D and service opening based on on-device AI
- Expansion of experiential services linked to smart city data hubs and activation of data industries
