The Smart City Solution Expansion Project is a project implemented to improve service conditions and mitigate the digital divide by intensively distributing proven solutions to small cities.
A total of 23 local governments applied for the smart city solution expansion project in 34, showing a competition rate of 4:1, and finally 8 locations were selected.

In 2022, a total of 49 local governments applied for the smart city development project, showing a 3:1 competition ratio. 16 sites were selected: Ulju-gun, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, Iksan-si/Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do, Gyeryong-si/Yesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.
