The establishment of a nationwide online trading platform will provide a place for reliable information communication between companies and local governments, which will boost the domestic smart city solution market.

Smart City is a new growth industry that combines high-tech, institutional, and cultural contents with cities as a platform, and is considered as the fastest growing market for 10 in the coming years.However, the smart city solution industry in Korea has no suitable trading market. There was a limit.
* ('18) $3,080 billion → ('23) $6,172 billion (Markets&markets, '19)

Local governments and public corporations, which are the largest consumers of solutions, also had many cases of delays or overlapping investments *, such as developing their own solutions due to lack of information.
* 2 new public apps → 1300 public apps… Destroy 771%, clean up apps that are not managed after overlapping and developing with private services ('40, Edaily)

As a result, the industry has continuously raised the necessity of providing online counters such as mediation of solution trade and regular product consultation and promotion with local consumers, public corporations and overseas buyers.

In order to solve these problems, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport started building an online marketplace with the Smart City Association earlier this year and started pilot operation on December 5. We plan to continuously collect the research results of the research and provide official service from January next year.

Currently, online marketplaces have published more than 600 commercially available solutions, such as women's security services, care for the demented elderly, IoT-based environment monitoring, and fine dust reduction.

In addition, it is easy to search ontologies * for community spaces where solution providers and consumers can communicate, the status of local smart city initiatives, and government projects, and to apply for on-line consultation.
* Ontology: A model that abstracts and shares what people think about things, and facilitates semantic-based knowledge sharing between web-based knowledge processing and applications.

Companies that wish to publish their solutions in the online marketplace can obtain the company ID from the solution market manager * and register the solution information.

In particular, in order to respond to the high overseas interest in Korea's smart city solutions, in July next year, the homepage will be translated into English so that export companies and overseas buyers can participate, and the establishment of a network with overseas sites will be promoted.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, Urban Economics Division, Bae Sung-ho said, “Smart city solution companies have many small and medium-sized companies and sprouting companies. We will actively create a smart city industrial ecosystem by establishing an online marketplace and selecting excellent smart city solutions through the market and enabling companies to grow. ”
