The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (Minister Kim Hyun-mi) announced that it would hold a contest for the 'life-oriented urban regeneration smart technology support project' from March 3 (Thu) to April 5 (Fri) to improve the settlement conditions and residents' convenience in the urban regeneration New Deal project area.
The 'Location-type urban regeneration smart technology support project' is a new project that will be implemented from this year. Up to 5 million won will be spent on projects that will solve problems in vulnerable areas where infrastructure is insufficient by applying smart technologies that are highly resident and easy to commercialize. Support. Local governments will be responsible for 40% to 60% of the national expenditure supported by the local cost matching ratio.
This year, a budget of KRW 85 billion is planned to select a total of 17 business locations.
The target of the application for this competition was selected as an urban regeneration new deal site since '17, and the urban regeneration project is in progress. However, 15 business sites that were previously selected as a 'smart urban regeneration project' and are receiving government support are excluded.
The project site finally selected for the competition project will be able to solve current problems in the region by utilizing smart technologies for the four key areas, such as safety, firefighting, transportation, energy, environment, and life and welfare, which are closely related to the residents' lives.

In this project site selection process, evaluation will be conducted based on the business plan, such as the specificity of the promotion plan, the degree of preparation of the project, and the connection with the existing smart infrastructure, to quickly start the project and select an area that can create a high-sensitivity effect. The application period for the contest project is three days from April 4 (Wed) to April 1 (Fri), and the project site is selected through the first document evaluation and the second presentation evaluation.
For project sites that have passed the first document evaluation, an evaluation committee composed of private experts in the related field will conduct a presentation evaluation in April, and the final selection will be made in May after deliberation by the Urban Regeneration Special Committee.
