Selected and supported 174 additional places with an estimated 29 billion won… Worth 6 million won per local government

Initially, the goal of supplying 22 places by 108 years is expected to be completed by 20 years.

□Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport selected 29 local governments for smart city integrated platform-based construction projects as part of the Korean version of the new deal.

ㅇThe smart city integrated platform base construction project is a project that builds an urban safety net and builds an intelligent city operation base by linking various information systems of local governments, such as crime prevention and transportation, with the information network of central institutions.

ㅇAs the performance* has been verified, such as the increase in various crime arrest rates and quicker response in the event of a fire since linking with the 112‧119 integrated platform, we are continuously expanding** in terms of services related to people's lives, such as supporting the socially disadvantaged.

*('18, Daejeon case) 112 Linked crime arrest rate 68.3→79.9%, 119 On-site arrival rate within 7 minutes 63.1→78.5%
**Support for socially disadvantaged children such as children and dementia, support for returning to home for women, arrest for violations of electronic anklets, etc.

ㅇSince we started supplying the integrated platform in 15, we have expanded the supply every year, and through this additional budget, we added 174 billion won (6 million won per local government, 29 places), which was earlier than the original plan. It is planned to complete the supply to major local governments ('108→'22).

<Concept of Smart City Integrated Operation Center>

□A total of 38 regional and basic local governments were supported for this contest (competition rate 1.3:1),

ㅇ Twenty-nine local governments were selected in consideration of the specificity and feasibility of project goals, strategies, detailed plans, and linked service plans, as well as whether they can be promptly promoted to help the local economy in the context of the Corona-19 crisis.

□MOLIT plans to issue government funds early so that the selected local governments can start the project quickly.

ㅇWe plan to continue to provide technical consulting and policy consultation in the business process in cooperation with the Smart Cities Association and the National Council of Local Governments so that the integration platform can be completed throughout the year.

□Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Urban Economics and Prof. Jin-Jin Lee said, “Smart City Integrated Platform is a project that has a great effect on public safety policies such as reduced crime rate and rapid response to disasters. "I am looking forward to further contributing to the solution."

ㅇ“As it is expanded and promoted as part of the Korean version of the New Deal in response to the Corona-19 crisis, we will continue to communicate with and support local governments so that they can be rapidly distributed to local areas and achieve results.”
