In the future, it will be possible to perform safety inspection of facilities while sharing real-time video with smart glasses without going to a remote site.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 28th that it is planning to implement a'remote safety inspection system construction project using Smart Internet based on Internet of Things (IoT)'.
This project is a project to actively solve the increasing demand for safety inspections for dangerous facilities around the living, such as old houses, bridges, poles, retaining walls, etc., by combining innovative IT technologies such as smart glasses, IoT sensors, and augmented reality technologies.
When employees wearing glasses-type smart glasses look around the risk factors of facilities at the site, experts share the video without going to the site and consult repair and reinforcement measures in real time.

Smart Glass also features augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to measure real objects, or compare actual images with previously stored images and show the status values of invisible structures on the screen. .
Earlier this year, it was selected as a public offering project for the '2020 High-tech Information Technology Utilization Public Service Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It is planned to be put into operation, and by the end of November, it is planned to be built into a system that can be used jointly by cities and counties.
To this end, Doo selected three companies, such as Deep Fine Co., Good Game Studio, and TS Line System Co., Ltd. as final consortiums through public announcement of the Public Procurement Service business last month.
When the construction of the Do-Do system is completed, the provincial government officials can inspect the facilities remotely without having to travel to inspect facilities in remote areas such as Yeoncheon or Gapyeong, overcoming the safety inspection limitations for large areas in Gyeonggi-do, as well as private experts. It is expected that the'Safety Management Advisory Group' will also participate in facility inspections.
In this regard, at the launching meeting held at the Metropolitan Government's situation room on the 24th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which is the'Ministry's Ministry of the Interior and Safety', and the Korea Regional Information Development Agency, the agency dedicated to the business promotion, are also in charge of safety. More than 30 people, including the head of the management department and related departments, attended and exchanged various opinions on ▲ high-tech information technology and facility safety inspection grafting method ▲ user-oriented and efficient system design plan ▲ facility safety inspection standardization plan.
“We plan to expand the introduction of intelligent information technology, such as smart glasses, to construction sites in the future in order to prepare for countermeasures against the recurrence of large-scale accidents that occur continuously,” said Choi Won-yong, chief of the Planning and Coordination Office. Through this, we will lead the construction of digital safety infrastructure in Gyeonggi-do.”
