– Promote business differentiation such as enhanced safety and shared kickboard service

Sejong Special Self-Governing City will implement services in earnest from December for three projects that were granted regulatory exceptions through the deliberation and resolution of the National Smart City Committee last September.

The special regulatory project to be implemented this time is ▲ demand forecasting and placement service for electric kickboards ▲ safety management service for city gas pipelines using drones and IoT ▲ non-face-to-face order settlement and route guidance platform service for the visually impaired.

The city has completed the preparation process, such as purchasing liability insurance for service provision, and plans to carry out demonstration projects for testing and verification of new technologies and services from December to July of next year.

The electric kickboard demand forecasting and placement service starts with a campaign to spread a safe kickboard usage culture at Sejong Lake Park on the 28th, and from the 1st of next month, 1 shared electric kickboards are put into one living area to provide the service.

The city also reinforced safety standards and insurance conditions to prevent cases where shared electric kickboards were introduced and operated indiscriminately without operational standards.

In particular, the maximum speed was limited to 20 km to prevent safety accidents when operating a shared electric kickboard, and adjusted to automatically decelerate to within 10 km in child protection areas.

In addition, for the safety of users, a dedicated helmet for shared kickboards was provided, and for the prevention of pedestrian accidents, the user must drive on a bicycle road and return them to 100 parking zones with permission for occupancy.

In addition, in case of an accident, the victims and perpetrators can be protected in the event of an accident by purchasing insurance that covers up to 1.8 million won for adults and 10 billion won for objects.

The city gas pipeline safety management service using drones and IoT is a service that efficiently manages city gas pipelines that were previously managed by manpower using drones and IoT sensors.

With this project, a drone will be used instead of dangerous site visits when inspecting gas pipes located on the exterior walls of bridges and buildings, and an IoT sensor will be installed in city gas pipes to check gas leaks in real time.

We are currently building an operating system for Godongun, and plan to start the service in earnest from March next year after the system is established.

The non-face-to-face order payment and route guidance platform service for the visually impaired is a service that helps the visually impaired to use the shopping mall easily by using smartphone apps and voice.

Currently, shopping mall owners and individual businesses in Saerom-dong are being recruited, and shopping mall owners and individual businesses participate in the demonstration project on condition that building information such as floor plans and menu information for order settlement are provided.

Visually impaired persons who will participate in the demonstration project will be selected through the Sejong Visually Impaired Association, and assistants for the visually impaired will be placed in the project area to prevent safety accidents at intersections.

Smart City Manager Jang Min-ju said, "The current regulatory innovation smart city project is in a stage where we are in contact with citizens for the installation and operation of smart devices, and we hope for the active participation and cooperation of citizens in the project."
