– Announcement of the data-based Sejong Digital Urban Platform with citizens
The Sejong Special Self-Governing City won the Presidential Award, the Best Organization Award, at the '37th Regional Informatization Research Project Presentation Competition' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Regional Informatization Research Project Presentation Contest has been held sequentially in each city and province since 1984 under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to induce local governments to discover local informatization projects and to share excellent ideas and acquire new technologies.
The city recently announced the theme of'Data-based Sejong Digital Urban Platform with Citizens' at this year's competition held online at the Gyeongnam Provincial Office.
The city received favorable reviews for providing specialized services that citizens could experience, such as sales of public masks through the smart portal Sejongen, and information on waiting time for voting for the election of the National Assembly.
In particular, it received high marks for its promotion of various smart city services, such as acquiring the world's first smart city leading city international certification and promoting the smart city international forum scheduled to be held next year.
City manager Jang Min-ju said, “In this competition, the creativity, ripple effect, and citizenship of the smart city project promoted by our city were highly evaluated,” and said, “We will continue to make efforts to create a smart city with citizens.”
