□ The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport announced that, despite the COVID-2 situation, a total of 18 submissions were received from 4 countries as a result of an international contest for the 「K-City Network Global Cooperation Program」 (hereinafter referred to as 「K-City Network」) from February 20th to April 19th.

ㅇ Compared to last year, the number of participating countries increased by 16, and the number of projects increased by 31 (38.8%), indicating that overseas interest in the K-City Network project is growing.

□ This year, in and out of 11 overseas cities: ① Smart city development type plan (basic plan, master plan, feasibility study, etc.), ② smart solution type (transportation, platform, environment, etc.) plan establishment, and newly introduced Korea. It is planning to support the company's ③ smart solution-type overseas demonstration.

ㅇ Discover smart city cooperation projects with foreign countries through ① establishment of smart city development-type plan and ② smart solution-type planning, and share and disseminate excellent technologies of each country. ③ Smart solution-type overseas demonstration of Korea's smart city technology overseas. It is planned to be applied directly to cities to lay the foundation for overseas expansion.

ㅇ In particular, ➂In the case of overseas demonstration of smart solution type, it is expected that the application and demonstration of our technology will be smoother as Korean companies with practical solutions submit applications in consultation with overseas governments in advance.

ㅇ The New Southern region submitted 10 cases from 35 countries, the New Northern region submitted 8 cases from 33 countries, and the Central and South America region submitted 6 cases from 19 countries.

ㅇ In particular, in this year's competition, Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, etc.), the Middle East (Jordan, Iran, etc.) and advanced countries such as the United States, France, and Spain participated in the competition, expanding the scope of the target country.

□ Looking at the results of the contest application by type,

ㅇ For smart city development, 24 cases were submitted from 57 countries,
-Various requests were made, from establishment of smart city development roadmap for the whole city (Vietnam, Philippines, Botswana, etc.) to satellite city construction (Uzbekistan, etc.), innovative development zone development (Belarus, etc.), and industrial complex development (Paraguay, etc.).

ㅇ For smart solution planning type, 16 cases were submitted from 40 countries,
– Transportation (13 cases) including the introduction of intelligent transportation systems, urban management (4 cases) such as urban control center advancement and urban integrated system, environmental areas such as smart parks and environmental management systems (5 cases), and safety areas such as smart crime prevention There were requests for planning and feasibility studies in various fields such as (5 cases).

ㅇ For the overseas demonstration of smart solutions, 12 cases were submitted from 14 countries,
– In various fields such as transportation (3 cases) such as smart parking and smart street lights, smart water management (4 cases), safety areas such as disaster management and safety services (2 cases), and communication areas (2 cases) such as communication infrastructure construction. There was a request for planning and feasibility study.
