– 7 additional companies selected with the goal of establishing a smart hub for urban space innovation based on green energy –

 

□ Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has completed the selection of additional operators for the successful implementation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport 'Smart City Challenge Main Project' selected on March 3th.

○ Jeju Smart City Challenge This project aims to build a citizen-led'e-3DA' future living city under the detailed tasks of increasing the utility of green mobility based on smart hubs, building a smart energy community based on new and renewable energy, and building a smart safety net. .

□ Following the preliminary project for the Smart City Challenge last year, in this year's main project, following the preliminary project for the Smart City Challenge, the project received and evaluated the business plan as it promoted the service, and selected companies to perform additional service models according to the upgrade.

○ In addition, 5 companies, including 3 Jeju companies*, were selected in 7 fields to provide sustainable services and opportunities to expand the participation of local companies in the future.
* Three Jeju companies: EVPass Co., Ltd., JIN System Co., Ltd., and Dajayo Co., Ltd.
-EV Pass Co., Ltd. (Kickboard) and Master Car Management Co., Ltd. (Electric Motorcycle) are expanding mobility services in connection with public transportation to all areas of Jeju to improve the convenience of movement according to the expansion of smart hubs.
-Blue Whale Company Co., Ltd. provides services for storing goods and using delivery bases in idle spaces of smart hubs as a life-oriented connection service, and Dajayo Co., Ltd. seeks diversification of services by turning vacant house regeneration lodging sites into local base-type smart hubs.
-JIN System Co., Ltd. provides integrated usage information by linking real-time public transportation information with the GreeGo platform*.

-Innodep Co., Ltd. establishes a drone video-based smart safety network in connection with a smart hub.
-Project management to achieve objectives in various business areas is carried out by the Korea Institute of Environment and Architecture.

□ Jeju Island plans to hold a kick-off meeting with 5 participating companies (organizations) in May to prepare a systematic business plan prior to the full-scale project promotion.

○ Then, from July of this year to the end of next year, a total project cost of KRW 7 billion will be invested to promote a citizen-led smart city creation project that connects new renewable energy and shared mobility to improve public transportation convenience.

○ In addition, it plans to build a total of 21 smart hubs, including the existing industrial conversion type of gas stations, the lifestyle-friendly type of convenience stores and marts, and the regional base type, and provide electric vehicle charging and mobility sharing services.
