The 'Smart City Asia Pacific Awards' is an international event in the smart city field that selects excellent government, public institutions and private companies in 14 smart city areas divided by function.
International Data Corporation (IDC), the organizer of the event, is the world's leading IT market analysis and consulting organization. At this year's event, 14 projects in 260 fields were judged and 16 projects were finally selected.
The city submitted a 'demand-response robot taxi' promoted with Kakao Mobility and Autonomos AXNUMXG this year, and was selected as the best project in the smart transportation sector such as connected/autonomous vehicles, public transportation, and car calling/ride sharing.
'Demand-response robot taxi' is a service that allows you to reserve and pay for autonomous vehicles with 'Kakao T' in the autonomous vehicle pilot operation district, and is currently operating on the route of the government complex - City Hall - National Research Complex.
With this award, the city confirmed the innovativeness and excellence of the autonomous driving service introduced together with the private sector, and was recognized for contributing to improving the convenience of transportation for citizens.
