Korea's smart city embraces people open the future connect the world
□ 'The 5th World Smart City Expo (WSCE 5)', the largest smart city international event in the Asia-Pacific region hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by public institutions*, will be held at KINTEX, Goyang from September 2021th to 9th.

ㅇ The fifth World Smart City Expo (WSCE 2021), which will be held this year, is colorfully organized under the theme of 'See REAL* YOUR SMART CITY'.
ㅇ It is an international event where domestic and foreign city experts, companies, international organizations, and the public can share policies and technologies related to smart cities and discuss the vision and values of the city.

ㅇ Through WSCE 2021, it is expected that the status of smart cities in Korea and global leadership will be further strengthened.
□ (Opening Ceremony) Congratulatory remarks from Prime Minister Boo-gyeom Kim and Chairman Lee Hun-seung, chairman of the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, Geiner Alvarado López, Minister of Housing Construction and Sanitation, Peru, and Galina Stoianova, Mayor of Ruk, Kazan, Bulgaria, congratulatory messages from other countries starts with,
ㅇ Keith Strier, vice president of global AI at NVIDIA, will be the keynote speaker and will give a lecture on smart city technology and Korea leading the global smart city under the theme of 'a new frontier for urban innovation'.
□ (Conference) About 150 eminent experts, such as mayor of Almir, Netherlands, Francc Weereind, and Carine Rolland, CEO of Plug Power, will discuss the latest global agenda in depth.
□ (Exhibition event) You can see various challenges of local governments and companies that are trying to solve the parking, safety, and traffic problems in the city center and transform them into a smart city using cutting-edge technology at the 'Smart Challenge Hall' and show off to the world. You can experience the current status and technology of the national pilot smart city (Sejong, Busan), a Korean smart city model that has a smart city model, at the 'National pilot smart city hall'. ㅇ A smart city lounge was created at the entrance of the exhibition hall to display the smart city development process and major policies in Korea at a glance.
ㅇ The winning works of the 'Children's Drawing Contest' under the theme of 'Drawing a Clear and Clean Future City' and the 'Video Contest' under the theme of 'My City, a Smart City' will be exhibited.
□ Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Kim Heung-jin said, “This expo is a world-class event that introduces Korea’s advanced smart city technologies and policies.”
ㅇ “It will be an opportunity to feel that you can enjoy a safe and convenient life through smart city technology,” he said.
□ Meanwhile, anyone interested in smart city can participate in WSCE 2021, but can watch it after going through the pre-registration process in accordance with the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.
