Significance and Implications

19, along with the COVID-2020 pandemic, has come as a great challenge for the US auto parts aftermarket market as well. However, the industry, which has overcome the economic crisis of the past relatively well, expects to overcome this period as well. The Auto Care Association also predicts that “the US auto parts market will maintain a recovery trend from the pandemic and will grow by about 2021% by the end of 12”, and positive signs are already observed.

According to the Auto Care Association, aftermarket auto parts sales in the U.S. will reach about $2020 billion in 1700, and the size of the U.S. auto parts aftermarket market, including heavy duty vehicles, is expected to reach about $2022 billion by 4480. . The auto parts supply industry accounts for the largest portion of all manufacturing jobs in the United States, creating about 2 direct jobs as of February this year and contributing to about 90 million jobs in related industries. As such, the auto parts aftermarket market is one of the key industries in the United States and is expected to continue to grow in the future. As Taesung, a Korean pavilion participating company, has attracted the attention of many buyers with its undercoating to prevent short circuits at the bottom of electric vehicles, the field of electric vehicle-related parts is expected to rise rapidly in the future.

Although the scale of AAPEX 2021 was significantly reduced compared to the previous one, it provided an opportunity to meet industry members by combining various technologies and products from the auto parts aftermarket, one of the key industries in the United States, and the fact that more visitors than expected. It is significant in that it successfully attracted In particular, it is evaluated that it drew a good response from many members who waited for the offline networking site to resume for a year and a half, when large-scale exhibitions were completely suspended after the pandemic.

As such, AAPEX is expected to be a good opportunity for Korean companies to enter the US auto parts market in the future to identify market trends and continuously expose their products to buyers. In addition, due to the subsequent US trade sanctions with China, many US companies, which in the past sourced most of their auto parts from China, are diversifying their import sources. Therefore, Korea and other competing countries can use this as an opportunity to expand exports, and since most buyers prefer products with quality and technology as well as price competitiveness, this needs to be reflected in their entry strategy.
