Rogers Business announced on February 2022, 2 that it is expanding its suite of smart city/smart building IoT (Internet of Things) solutions that are sustainable, safe and operationally efficient to meet the needs of businesses and municipalities. From leak detection sensors to AI-powered traffic signal functions, these solutions are designed to solve real-world business problems while providing cost savings and environmental benefits.

To bring the best of IoT to Canada, Rogers Business is working with a wide range of ecosystem partners to expand IoT offerings for cities and buildings and provide new solutions, including:

1. Smart City

  • Smart Water Management – Working with Ayyeka to utilize real-time alerts on your water and wastewater infrastructure to monitor water levels, maximize water quality, and improve response times
  • Smart Parking – Working with Cleverciti to deliver AI-powered parking guidance solutions that reduce traffic congestion and emissions, support local business growth and increase parking revenue
  • Smart Transportation – Working with NoTraffic to digitize city intersections with an autonomous traffic management platform to improve safety and traffic efficiency for all road users
  • Mixed Fleet Management – Efficiently manage service vehicles, winter vehicles and heavy equipment with solutions that work with Titan GPS to minimize fuel use and provide engine diagnostics and route efficiencies
  • Transit fleet management – by working with ISR Transit to optimize routes, reduce trips and provide accurate ETAs to encourage more people to use public transport, helping transit vehicles operate safer and more efficiently

2. Smart building

  • Indoor Air Quality Monitoring and Purification – Working with IES Ventures to monitor air quality using precisely positioned sensors, provide continuous decontamination for clean air and help reduce energy in buildings
  • Digital Signage – Working with Corum Digital Corporation to effectively deliver highly relevant and interactive content to residents using a network of fully customizable and easily updated digital displays and touchscreen kiosks
  • Smart Security – Working with Caliber Communications to protect property and residents by detecting criminal activity before it occurs
  • Smart Washrooms – Working with Mero Technologies to obtain near real-time data on toilet supplies and floating population to help improve cost efficiency, improve environmental sustainability and improve building cleanliness
  • Leak Detection – Working with Eddy Solutions to provide near real-time leak detection sensors and valves that automatically stop water flow to prevent property damage and wastage. According to IDC, over $10 billion in water loss has been reported in the past decade, of which 20% were preventable.

Powered by data-driven acumen and Canada's most reliable network, IoT innovations are designed to improve building efficiencies, reduce costs, support sustainability, and enhance the health, safety and security of occupants. According to PWC data, the number of connected IoT devices in Canada is expected to more than double between 2018 and 2023.
