Incheon, a special environmental city, presents a new resource recycling practice method using information and communication technology of private companies.
Incheon Metropolitan City signed an agreement with SK Telecom, SK Geocentric, and EcoCO in the reception room of the city hall on the 24th, and the “Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based resource circulation ecosystem creation project using private information and communication technology (ICT*) and infrastructure. ' was promoted.

The city satisfies the diverse needs of citizens, such as useful resource circulation information and expansion of the range of use of oil price compensation points, and introduced an advanced unmanned collection device that citizens can use conveniently to transform the 'Incheon eeum resource circulation store' into a culture of life. This agreement was planned with the goal of establishing itself.
The signing ceremony was attended by Park Yu-jin, head of the Resources Recycling and Energy Division, SK Telecom Vice President Yeoh Young, SK Geocentric Vice President Lee Jong-hyuk, and EcoCO CEO Park Young-seong in attendance.
In the agreement on this day, the city selected 11 'Incheon e-eum resource circulation stores' operated by Michuhol-gu as a pilot project site, and SK Telecom analyzed artificial intelligence video ( Vision AI) and resource circulation app (App.) will be applied to conduct on-site verification work.
Based on the artificial intelligence image analysis technology (Vision AI) solution, the selection accuracy of the unmanned collection device for transparent plastic bottles will be improved, while the resource circulation app will induce citizens' voluntary participation.
The resource circulation app (App.) is expected to provide various benefits to citizens, such as expanding the resource circulation points accumulated by citizens to be used as various points such as OK cashback as well as existing local currency by discharging transparent plastic bottles correctly.
In addition, SK geocentric's logistics infrastructure is used to collect and transport transparent plastic bottles discharged to the 'Incheon eeum Resource Circulation Shop', and build and support a logistics model and recycling system that can improve the quality of recyclables and reduce logistics costs.
EcoCO will be responsible for the operation of the Incheon eeum resource circulation store and data collection along with the supply of the transparent plastic bottle unmanned collection device.
In the future, the city and the three companies plan to produce recycled products from the recovered transparent plastic bottles.
Park Yu-jin, head of the resource recycling and energy division of the city, said, “All participating organizations agreed that resource recycling activities should be established as a culture in daily life, not a short-term event. We will do our best to create this easy and fun resource circulation ecosystem.”
The city plans to promote this pilot project from June to the end of the year, and based on the results of the project, decide whether to expand it to Incheon e-eum resource circulation stores throughout the city.
