□ The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport will hold the "Smart City Idea Contest Using Metabus" (hereinafter referred to as the "Idea Contest") to discover creative services and technologies in the smart city field and to promote public interest from June 6th.
ㅇ Anyone from all over the country can participate in this idea contest, which implements a smart city future image containing solutions to urban problems on the metaverse platform, and a total of 18 cases will be selected and awarded.
* Depending on the application status and judging results, some scales may be adjusted, such as the number of winners

□ To participate in the contest, implement a smart city idea using three metaverse platforms (Zeppetto, Minecraft, and Roblox) with many domestic users, and create and submit a work introduction video (within 3 minutes).
ㅇ Specific details will be disclosed through the guidelines posted on the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA) website (www.kaia.re.kr) and smart city website (smartcity.go.kr).
ㅇ Idea contests can be submitted until August 8 (15:18), and submissions of the work introduction video and related application documents can be submitted via e-mail.

ㅇ The ideas received will be judged by an external judging committee made up of experts related to smart city, metaverse, innovative technology, and metaverse creators. The grand prize is awarded with a prize of 1,000 million won along with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Award.
ㅇ The results of the screening will be individually notified to the winners at the end of August, but the award ceremony and demonstration of the award-winning works will be held on September 8st as a side event of the 'World Smart City Expo'*, where the technologies of smart city companies around the world will be exhibited.
* The Expo will be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from August 8.31st to September 9.2th.
□ Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Urban Policy Officer Bok-Hwan Kim said, “Smart cities are places of innovation where various future technologies are realized.
ㅇ “I plan to refer to the ideas proposed in the competition in the smart city policy establishment process,” he said.
ㅇ On the other hand, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, following the idea contest, held the 'Startup Idea Challenge with Entrepreneurs' and 'Next Innovation Technology Demonstration' to discover and support prospective entrepreneurs and sprout companies with innovative technologies and services related to smart cities. Project' is also scheduled to announce the public offering plan in July.
