– Installation of sidewalk blocks, column lights, sidewalk copper plates and replacement of LED lights to create a themed street

Cheonan City announced on the 4th that it has completed the pedestrian environment improvement work near the access road of Cheonan West Station, which was promoted from April 13 as part of the Cheonan Station Area Urban Regeneration New Deal Project.

The Cheonan Station Area Urban Regeneration New Deal project, which started construction in 2018, is promoting various unit projects such as the Urban Regeneration Harmony Center, Campus Town, Central Street Renovation, and Smart Water Park. Among them, 'Maintaining a Central Street' is a project to improve the pedestrian environment around Cheonan Seobu Station and create theme streets.

The city replaced 1,434㎡ of old asphalt concrete pavement section near the entrance to Seobu Station with sidewalk blocks, and replaced 9 cast lights that were dark due to halogen lights with LED lights to secure night vision. In addition, 10 hot column lamps, 20 LED sidewalk boards, and 30 general sidewalk boards were installed.

In particular, the soft lighting of colonnade lamps designed under the theme of weeping willows, the symbol of Cheonan, and the LED pavement board made with the theme of urban regeneration, were created so that citizens can travel comfortably and safely at night.

Citizen A, who was on foot to use Cheonan Station, said, “The street that used to be dark at night is bright and safe to walk, and it is fun to walk while reading the words on the sidewalk. “He said.

A city official said, "We would like to express our gratitude to the local residents who endured inconvenience during the pedestrian environment improvement project at Cheonan Seobu Station." The pedestrian environment has been improved and other projects such as the Urban Regeneration Harmony Center, Green Startup Park, and Cheonan Station Area Innovation District will be promoted without any setbacks.”
