– The first completion ceremony of the 20-month course at the Smart Farm Innovation Valley Youth Startup Incubation Center was held

Gyeongsangnam-do announced that at 29 am on the 10th, the first graduation ceremony of the Youth Startup Incubation Center was held at the Smart Farm Innovation Valley in Gyeongnam to nurture smart farm professionals who will lead the future of agriculture.
The 'Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation Center Education Curriculum', hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and operated by the Gyeongnam Agricultural Resources Management Service, selects 18 young people between the ages of 39 and 52 every year and runs them for 20 months. This is a course to nurture young entrepreneurs in smart farms from basic farm theory to practice courses to grow, produce, and sell crops directly.
The first-generation students who completed this time were selected in July 1, enrolled in September of that year, and completed the 2020-month course (total of 7 hours) until the end of April to qualify for completion.
Among the 1 students selected as first-generation students, some gave up due to work and personal circumstances, and 52 completed it, showing a completion rate of 37%. Three people were selected and additionally awarded with a certificate of provincial governor.
Based on the cultivation technology and farming experience acquired for 20 months, the graduates settle in rural areas to become smart farm owners and start business, or move into innovation valleys or city/gun rental smart farms to continue their farming careers through rental management. .
A trainee who attended the graduation ceremony said, “Even though I am not a major in agriculture, it has been a great help in acquiring smart farm technology without much difficulty through a solid curriculum and an educational program composed of excellent instructors. I will make it happen,” he said.
In his congratulatory remarks, Yoo Si-young, the director of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, said, “I would like to thank you for doing your best to complete the training course for 19 months to achieve your dreams of becoming a young farmer even in the midst of the COVID-20 situation,” and encouraged them by saying, “Let’s all work together to expand smart farms for the development of Gyeongnam’s future agriculture.”
Meanwhile, the province has invested a total of KRW 2019 billion for four years from 4 to this year to nurture smart farm professionals and innovate technology for equipment and materials to create a smart farm innovation valley. We are accelerating the construction.
