'Bus window digital signage advertisement', which displays public information and commercial advertisements by attaching a transparent LED display to the side glass window of the bus, can be used beyond the threshold of current regulations.
Digital signage is an outdoor advertisement using digital information display (DID) and refers to an advertisement and information sign in which information technology (IT) is grafted.
On the 20th, Gyeonggi Province passed the approval of special demonstration for the regulatory sandbox project 'Bus Window Digital Signage Advertising', which was consulted by the province at the 22nd New Technology and Service Review Committee held by the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 29th. said.
The regulatory sandbox is a system that grants special cases to market launches, testing and verification by exempting or deferring current regulations for a certain period of time for new products and services using new technologies for innovative growth of new industries. Companies wishing to utilize this system must obtain approval from relevant ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Financial Services Commission. An approved company can conduct a demonstration project for two years from the date of initiation of the special case.
The transparent LED display of Changseong Seat Co., Ltd., which was approved as a demonstration special case through Gyeonggi-do consulting, is a product that can be used for public service guidance, etc. Because of the characteristics of transparency, flexibility, and ease of construction, a display function can be added without losing the original function of the vehicle glass. By taking advantage of the characteristics of the bus moving on a fixed route, it is possible to send out customized advertisements for the area in operation and to provide various information including public information.
According to the current Outdoor Advertising Act, bus window advertising using electricity is restricted, and the Automobile Management Act prohibits installation of lights or flashing lights, or tuning to increase gross weight.
On this day, the Deliberation Committee approved a special case of demonstration as a condition of securing 'safety of the bus itself' and 'safe operation of other drivers'.
The province has provided a variety of customized consulting services, ranging from application preparation to market research, and advice on consultation and mediation of issues through legal experts for the approval of the company's empirical exception. It is expected that this special approval will contribute to the expansion of advertising channels for small business owners using buses and to vitalization of industries related to outdoor advertising such as digital displays.
