– Geographical Information Service, Vietnam Geographical Service Signed business agreement with Hanoi National University –

□ The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport worked with the National Geographic Information Center of the Republic of Korea (Director Sakongho Sang) and Hanoi National University to expand technology and human resource exchanges between Korea and Vietnam in the field of geospatial data and geodetic data and to expand the bridgehead for Korean businesses in the ASEAN region. (Vietnam National University, Hanoi, VNU) and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as 'Vietnam Geography Center', VIETNAM INSTITUTE OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY, VIGAC) announced that they had signed a business agreement.

□ First, the National Geographic Information Institute signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanoi National University (Vice President NGAC AN BANG) on June 6 at 28:16 (14:XNUMX local time) to share the status of international exchanges and educational programs in the field of geospatial data, to cooperate in fostering and training human resources in the field of geospatial data, and to share related information.

ㅇ In particular, to commemorate the signing of the agreement, Director Sah Gong Ho-sang of the National Geographic Information Service gave a special lecture to about 4 professors and students at the National University of Hanoi under the theme of “The 40th Industrial Revolution and the Development Direction of Geospatial Data”.

□ Then, on July 7st at 1:12 (10:2010 local time), the National Geographic Information Institute and the Vietnam Geographic Institute signed a business agreement (MOU) to expand cooperation areas such as geospatial data education, quality control, and standardization, which were the main contents of the existing business agreement signed in June 6, to all areas of geospatial data.
ㅇ In this business agreement, the two sides agreed to actively cooperate in the fields of ① geographic and territorial information systems and services, ② aerial photogrammetry, ③ development and processing methods of remote sensing application technology, ④ 3D digital map production, and ⑤ geodetic and spatial information production. did

ㅇ In addition, prior to the business agreement, cooperation measures such as the establishment of geospatial data and the sharing of research activities were discussed to promote technical cooperation in the field of geospatial data between the two countries.

□ In addition, in connection with the “Korea-Vietnam Sustainable Land Management and Geospatial Information Technology Cooperation International Seminar” held in Vietnam, industry, academia, and research conferences to support overseas expansion of geospatial data-related organizations and related industries (July 7.1) , Fri) was also held.

ㅇ At this event, we shared the current status of the project implementation of Korean companies and public institutions in the field of geospatial data and listened to their difficulties, and drew connection with overseas related projects such as KOICA* and ODA** promoted by the National Geographic Information Service, as well as the ASEAN business of domestic companies. We discussed ways to support regional advancement.

* KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) Korea International Cooperation Agency
** ODA (Official Development Assistance)

ㅇ In particular, in-depth opinions were shared on ways to diversify Korean companies and institutions' overseas expansion, such as constructing overseas geospatial information and preemptive disaster response, using various and precise satellite image data taken by the Korea Territorial Satellite (successfully launched in March 21.3).

□ Director Sah Gong-Ho-Sang of the National Geographic Information Service said, “Through this business agreement, it is a good opportunity for Korean companies to advance into the ASEAN market, which has been blocked by Corona 19, and to introduce and share Korea’s advanced technologies and related systems. I hope it will be an opportunity.”
