Siheung City (Mayor Lim Byung-taek) announced that it has successfully completed a pilot project to build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart fire alarm system in two traditional markets (Sammi Market and Doil Market).

The city established a system capable of preemptively responding to large-scale fires, such as early detection of fires and initial response, by introducing Internet of Things (IoT)-based fire alarms to existing traditional markets, which are vulnerable to fires due to their aging facilities or high density of small-scale fires. Currently, the pilot operation (5.6.~7.29.) has been terminated and is operating normally.

The fire alarm system built in the traditional market detects flame, smoke, and temperature three types of fire sources, and when a fire source is detected for each store, the control center sends a text message and a phone call to the store owner to promptly and accurately convey the fire situation. plays a role This made it possible to monitor the fire 3 hours a day, 365 days a year through the monitoring of expert personnel at the control center.

In addition, information such as the time of fire, address, location information, contact information of the store owner, etc. are automatically reported and received to 119 not only to disseminate the fire situation, but also to respond to a fire by dramatically shortening the time required for dispatch and arrival of the fire department. In addition to securing the golden time for

This project was carried out through active participation and cooperation of the local merchants' association and the Siheung Fire Department, who were sympathetic to the fire problem in the traditional market.
