Smart city certification is a project that started in '21 to diagnose the smart capabilities of local governments and discover best practices.

As a result of examining 24 local governments that applied for certification, 4 large cities including Gimhae and Incheon were selected, and 5 were selected as small and medium-sized cities, including Gangneung and Dalseo-gu (Daegu).

The smart city certification examination was conducted in a way that comprehensively evaluates and scores the local government's ① smart city service and infrastructure level, ② related institutional base and promotion system, and ③ the professionalism and innovation of citizens and local public officials.

Using 56 detailed evaluation indices, certification was granted to cities that received a total score of 70% or higher. is granted

Incheon Metropolitan City received the highest evaluation among large cities, and its strengths were that it has excellent infrastructure such as the “Smart City Integrated Operation Center” and that it provides various public city services such as disaster prevention, environment, and crime prevention.

In particular, in order to respond to the lack of public transportation in the region, local governments, public institutions, and companies formed a cooperative system and newly introduced and expanded services such as intelligent shared taxis and demand-response buses were evaluated as excellent.

Unlike in '21, when only cities in the Seoul area, such as Gangnam-gu and Guro-gu, were selected for small and medium-sized cities, this year, local cities such as Gangneung-si and Daegu Dalseo-gu also achieved certification.

Dalseo-gu, Daegu, received the highest rating, and received high marks for easing congestion at major intersections using an artificial intelligence-based traffic analysis system and for creating eco-friendly and high-efficiency industrial spaces by introducing energy management technology to local industrial complexes. .

It received good evaluations for its effectiveness, such as supporting optimal route search by combining the means of transportation linked to the Smart City Pass, and supporting the accumulation of mileage by users in connection with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport budget transportation card.

For certified services, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport commendation will be awarded, and support will be given to designation as an innovative product* with benefits in the public sector procurement process.
