The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (Minister Hee-ryong Won Won) announced that 2022 cities and 9 services were selected for certification as a result of the 4 smart city/service certification contest. Smart city certification is a project that started in '21 to diagnose the smart capabilities of local governments and discover best practices.
As a result of examining 24 local governments that applied for certification, 4 large cities including Gimhae and Incheon were selected, and 5 were selected as small and medium-sized cities, including Gangneung and Dalseo-gu (Daegu).
