Korea-Vietnam smart city construction project started cooperation

Bucheon City announced on the 18th that high-ranking officials from the Vietnam Ministry of Construction had visited Bucheon City to benchmark the excellent Korean smart city project.

According to the 'Korea-Vietnam Summit and MOU with related central ministries' signed in March 2018, the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (Consortium: Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, LH, KAIA) is promoting the 'Korea-Vietnam Smart City Construction Technology Cooperation Center Establishment and Operation Project' to build a hub for smart city cooperation and a base for domestic construction and IT industries to enter Vietnam. Accordingly, the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology plans to invite senior officials of the Ministry of Construction in Vietnam to invite training in domestic smart cities. Through the introduction of smart city projects in Bucheon, the foundation for mutual development will be established, such as the transfer of experience and know-how on smart city development, policy establishment, and city operation in Korea.

Starting with the bus information system in 2000, Bucheon City started a national ITS pilot project from 2005 to 2009, built a national pilot transit center from 2012 to 2016, contributed to the national standardization of smart parking systems from 2018 to 2019, and from 2019 the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, It has been actively promoting smart city challenge and ITS projects, which are support projects for and transport.

With smart city certification in 2021 and smart city service certification in 2022, '2022. By winning the 'City Category Award' at the World Smart City Expo and the 'Hall of Fame Award' at the '26th ITS World Congress,' smart technology is being recognized at home and abroad, and the city's competitiveness is growing.

In the smart city business introduction and cooperation seminar held at Bucheon City Hall on this day, the 'Smart City Pass' app (traffic, safety, environment, living lab, etc.) was directly demonstrated to experience the smart life of Bucheon citizens and to collaborate with major smart city projects in Bucheon. They shared ways to strengthen smart citizen capabilities.
