On December 8, Hongcheon-gun held the final report of the 2nd smart city council capacity building program at the Hongcheon Culture and Arts Center.

The 2nd smart city consultative body capacity building training consisted of lectures, case studies, living labs, field trips to best practices, and final reports, and was held once a week from last September for a total of 9 sessions.

The lecture was attended by the best experts in the field of smart cities with experience and knowledge, such as Yonsei University Professor Yoo Eun-jeong, Korea Livestock Technology Association Chairman Gyeong No-gyeom, and Park Rin, vice president of TG Co., Ltd.

In addition, the substantiality of education was strengthened through case studies including case presentations from private companies and in-depth living labs in which residents' associations actively participated.

The Hongcheon-gun Smart City Council is a public-private council consisting of about 50 people, including public officials, residents, research institutes, and private companies, to create a smart city model for Hongcheon Bay. All.

As a result, an overall consensus was formed on the necessity of creating a smart city, and based on this, six urban problems to be solved with priority were selected.

The selected urban problems are ▲resolving parking problems in Hongcheon-eup ▲maintaining the public transportation system ▲discovering regionally specialized projects using the site for unit relocation, ▲activating National Highway 44 and improving tourism conditions ▲activating local food distribution ▲development of the role of the smart city council.

The county plans to continue to cooperate with the smart city council in the process of establishing a smart city master plan and preparing for a government funded project.

In addition, through the third education next year, Hongcheon-gun plans to develop into a living lab-based test bed where public-private governance and businesses jointly seek and apply solutions to urban problems.
