Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yu Jeong-bok) announced that it was selected as the 'Best' institution in the Special Metropolitan City Group in the '2022 Sustainable Transportation City Evaluation' supervised by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

This evaluation is a system that evaluates the current status and policies in the environment, society, and economy related to transportation of 10 local governments with a population of 73 or more every year in accordance with the 「Sustainable Transportation and Logistics Development Act」, and local governments that have shown excellent efforts are selected and awarded. .

The evaluation is divided into 4 groups according to population and city characteristics, and the city has been awarded the 'Best Award' in 7 special and metropolitan city group evaluations.

In this evaluation, Incheon City received high evaluation scores in policy evaluation items such as ▲establishment of a safe transportation system, ▲consolidation of competitiveness of the transportation system, ▲implementation of a transportation transfer fare system, and ▲provision of transportation information, and received an excellent evaluation.

In particular, as of October 2022, compared to the previous year, the number of traffic accidents in Incheon decreased by 7.1%, deaths by 10.5%, and injuries by 8.3%, respectively, and the only integrated transfer fare system in the metropolitan area through fare support for Airport Railroad users in the Yeongjong area (27,499 persons, KRW 914 million) It is known that it was highly evaluated for eliminating fare discrimination.
