1. Business targeted for support

ㅇ Project name: Base smart city creation project in 2023

ㅇ Business purpose: Creating a smart base that can enhance regional competitiveness and lead the spread of smart cities

ㅇ Scale of support: A total of 2 locations, up to KRW 3 billion for 200 years for each target area (subject to 1:1 matching condition for local expenses)
* National expenditures are issued to local governments, and local expenditures must be matched in the same scale as national expenditures, and additional investment by local governments, public and private companies is possible

 

2. Eligibility

ㅇ Special metropolitan cities, special self-governing cities, provinces, and counties can apply

– Among local governments that have been selected for smart city projects for similar purposes *, those whose 3 years have not passed since the end of the project period cannot apply
* Smart City Challenge (selected by 21), regional base smart city (selected by 22)

– Cannot apply simultaneously with solution expansion in 23 and small but strong smart city business
* For detailed qualifications, refer to the competition guidelines

「2023 Strong Small Smart City Creation Project」

1. Business targeted for support

ㅇ Project name: 2023 strong small smart city creation project

ㅇ Project purpose: To solve urban problems caused by rapid urban development, create a leading city with specialized solutions to secure the ability to respond to environmental changes such as climate crisis and regional extinction

ㅇ Scale of support: A total of 4 locations, up to KRW 2 billion for 120 years for each target area (subject to 1:1 matching condition for local expenses)
* National expenditures are issued to local governments, and local expenditures must be matched in the same scale as national expenditures, and additional investment by local governments, public and private companies is possible

 

2. Eligibility

ㅇ Applicants can apply for special autonomous cities, counties, and autonomous districts with a population of less than 100 million, and cannot apply simultaneously with the 2023 base smart city project and solution expansion project.

「2023 Smart City Solution Expansion Project」

 

1. Business targeted for support

ㅇ Project name: Smart city solution expansion project in 2023

ㅇ Business purpose: Improve practical service conditions and mitigate the digital divide by intensively distributing a distribution solution whose effectiveness has been verified as a package to small cities

ㅇ Scale of support: A total of 8 locations were selected, and 20 billion won/place was supported by the government (subject to a 1:1 matching condition)
* Depending on the evaluation results, the number of final support (selection) and amount of support may be changed. In case of remaining budget due to abandonment of the project after the selection of the local government, additional selection may be made among the applied local governments.

 

2. Eligibility

ㅇ Heads of basic local governments with a population of less than 30 * (Cities, counties, districts) apply alone, and cannot apply overlapping with the 2023 base-type/small strong-type smart city creation project
* Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Sejong Special Self-Governing City can apply regardless of population size
