A suspect attempting to steal from a vehicle parked in an alleyway in the early morning hours when people were rare was arrested through close observation and prompt reporting by a control officer at the CCTV Integrated Control Center in Yeongju City.

 

Control agent A received a letter of commendation from the Yeongju Police Station on the 23rd for contributing to the arrest of the vehicle robbery suspect.

 

According to Yeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, control agent A was suspicious of a man opening the door of a parked car in the academic alley of Gyeongbuk College in the early morning of the 21st, and immediately reported it to 112 and helped the police to arrest the scene.

 

After reporting 112, control agent A searched the surrounding CCTV to figure out the suspect's route, and the police who dispatched played a decisive role in arresting the suspect.

 

“The Yeongju CCTV Integrated Control Center is working hard to keep citizens safe with 24-hour tight control,” said Jo Nang, head of the Public Relations and Computer Office.

 

Meanwhile, Yeongju City CCTV Integrated Control Center was opened in August 2012, and 8 people are in charge of controlling 24 video cameras. Last year, a total of 1404 observations and reports were recorded through CCTV real-time control, including 5 cases of response to five major crimes, 57 cases of traffic accident and suspicious vehicle detection, 300 cases of response to minor crimes, 79 cases of fire response, and 19 cases of elderly protection.

 

This year, a budget of 47 billion won will be invested to build a more efficient and accurate control system by moving to a new building with one floor above ground and one floor below the ground in the area of ​​1515 Gaheung-dong.
