Ten-Eleven's Buildit designer said that the artificial intelligence architectural design solution greatly reduced the cumbersome task of repetitive work with existing CAD and increased work efficiency. Built on Unity, Buildit Designer is currently the only digital chain-based architectural design editing software in Korea and has won the 'Grand Prize' in the industry category at the [MWU Korea Awards 2022]. We met Director Kim Dong-cheol and Development Team Leader Jay Park to hear more about how Buildit Designer was created and how it was able to win the award with excellent reviews.

Ten-Eleven, which created Buildit Designer, surprisingly started out as a game developer. While writing scripts for game level design, I built the logic to automatically generate buildings in the background. A flashing idea came to me that if the actual building codes were applied to the parameters used at this time, buildings could also be created, so I quickly prototyped them. has created And with the prototype, we had a detailed meeting with incumbents such as designers and builders, and based on the positive feedback from the field, we jumped into the Buildit project with the conviction that we could contribute to the construction industry with Ten-Eleven's technology.

Currently, Buildit Designer can reduce the creation of architectural designs to just 5 minutes, which previously took architects five days. In the existing design work, in order to know the floor area ratio, building coverage ratio, amount of sunlight and number of households, it had to be repeated several times and took a considerable amount of time, but Buildit's artificial intelligence uses Unity's Raycast technology to check collisions between buildings. to review building codes. In addition, sunlight and solar radiation are analyzed through solar simulation using Unity Lighting, which can innovatively shorten existing tasks that were cumbersome.

Director Kim Dong-chul gave an example of a customer case where 'Build It Designer' was put into a redevelopment apartment project. Through the artificial intelligence of the Build It program, he selected the most efficient and highest number of households within the building code, and as a result, he was able to secure 100 additional households compared to the existing design. Assuming a pre-sale price of about 7 million won per household, the project was able to create an added value of more than 700 billion won compared to the previous one, and the residents liked that the resident contribution was reduced, and the construction companies and implementers used Buildit effectively because their business feasibility increased. You said it was a success story. Currently, the project has passed the architectural review safely and is on the verge of construction. There were many twists and turns and trial and error along the way to Buildit's success. Park Jae-beom, technical team leader, said that creating a digital twin environment required the most effort among the many difficulties. The digital twin is a technology that designs a world that is identical to reality in a computer-implemented virtual world, effectively simulates countless scenarios that can actually occur, predicts results, and derives an optimized solution.
