-IFEZ, next year's goal of completion IFEZ Smart City base service phase 1 construction 'successful'

#Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Songdo International City, a parent of 4th and 2nd graders in elementary school, was heartbroken when the children did not return home even after dismissal time and were not contacted until late at night. I was worried that something bad might have happened, and I was anxious.

#After thinking about it, Mr. A recalled that the IFEZ Smart City Operation Center was doing a 'face recognition video control service' and contacted the center urgently the next day. After confirming the children's movement and current location in a short time through "," they were relieved to know that they were safe and wiped out their surprised hearts.

This is a virtual representation of some of the services scheduled to be provided to citizens in relation to the 'IFEZ Smart City-based service phase 1 construction project' that the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is promoting with the goal of completing the construction by the end of next year.

The face recognition video control service installed 'AI (artificial intelligence) CCTV' capable of face recognition in front of 16 elementary schools where smart crosswalks are installed in the children's protection zones of IFEZ Songdo, Yeongjong and Cheongna International City. In addition, it is possible to prevent safety accidents and track missing persons in the event of a missing elderly person with dementia. Currently, the IFEZ Smart City Operation Center's controllers have to check the children's movement through CCTV, which is inconvenient.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is in full swing to build state-of-the-art smart city-based services.
As the '2030 IFEZ Smart City Promotion Strategy' and the detailed design service for the first phase of smart city-based services have been completed, the Incheon Economic Administration announced on the 1th that it will invest a total of 102 billion won by next year to build the first phase of smart city-based services.

In order to further advance IFEZ smart city services, the vision of 'global future city, smart innovation hub IFEZ' is to promote the 2030 IFEZ Smart City, which is being promoted based on urban space innovation, citizen participation, corporate fostering, and data hub by 2030. This is the first stage of the strategy.

The purpose of the first phase is to provide smart services that citizens and businesses can experience, breaking away from the 'top down' method led by public institutions that focuses on introducing public-led technology and building infrastructure.

Through this first-phase project, the Incheon Economic Office plans to design a smart city model and build and provide advanced smart city services.

In the mid- to long-term, the first phase of the project will be supplemented or services will be expanded and advanced to be designed and built step by step, focusing on citizens, businesses, the environment, and urban space. In other words, it is being promoted in a way that more tightly organizes and complements the first stage.

This IFEZ smart city-based service phase 1 construction project consists of a total of 4 unit services in four areas: citizen safety, citizen convenience, mobility, and business development.

Including object and face recognition video control, △AI-based real-time road risk control, △Smart pole, △Smart shelter, △Green energy charging, △Multi-purpose self-driving robot, △Smart intersection, △Emergency vehicle priority signal, △Large vehicle traffic management , △Opening traffic signal information, △Priority bus signal, △Advanced IoT platform, △Integrated management of facilities, △Establishment of open studio, △Improvement of 'Poom Platform Cloud', △Expansion of users of Poom Platform etc.

Looking at representative services, first, AI-based real-time road risk control is a service that manages road conditions by installing sensor-based terminals in road management vehicles to collect and process various road risk information such as road pits (potholes), cracks, and defects in sight guide rods. all. In addition, facilities such as air conditioners, air purifiers, smart benches, bus information, and public Wi-Fi are installed in the smart shelters to provide a safe resting place for public transportation users and citizens.

In addition, in relation to the emergency vehicle priority signal, a system capable of prompt on-site dispatch is implemented by controlling the intersection signal near the fire station. Inside the Incheon Startup Park, an open studio, a space where technology and services can be promoted to resident companies, is built to provide the necessary infrastructure for nurturing companies.

The Incheon Economic Office plans to carry out the first phase of the smart city-based service project without a hitch, such as selecting a company around August after public tenders and evaluation of proposals.

Through this smart city-based service establishment, IFEZ plans to actively utilize and reflect the core technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, such as AI, self-driving, big data, Internet of Things, and robots, and do its best to realize a future-oriented eco-friendly smart city. .

In particular, the IFEZ plans to make the urban infrastructure of IFEZ more intelligent and advanced to create a future city where citizens can live comfortably and safely, and a city that they want to live in with the best living conditions and competitiveness.

Kim Jin-yong, head of the Incheon Economic Commission, said, “The establishment of this smart city-based service is to further advance the IFEZ smart city, which the world is paying attention to and which is desired to be benchmarked, based on the 4th industrial revolution.” We will do our best to provide services that citizens and companies can experience and participate in.”
