On the 15th, 7 high-ranking officials, including the director of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Rwanda, visited Sejong City

Six high-ranking officials, including the director of tax policy at the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Rwanda, visited Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Choi Min-ho) on the 6th to enhance understanding of Sejong City's intelligent city (smart city) and digital taxation.

 

This visit was arranged as part of the Rwanda tax policy and tax administration improvement consulting project of the Korea Institute of Public Finance.

 

In addition, it was promoted to help understand the major policies and systems of domestic tax reform, to share the current status of Sejong City's advanced digital tax operation, and to inform smart city-related facilities.

 

The delegation had a meeting with Policy Planning Officer Cheon Heung-bin and listened to the current status of Sejong City's future strategic capital vision and digital tax policy.

 

Afterwards, they visited the City Integrated Information Center and inspected the city information management operating system using intelligent city technology.

 

Chae Soo-kyung, head of the Planning and Coordination Office, said, “I hope that Sejong City, which is promoting citizen-centered digital administration, such as providing simplified services for tax payment convenience, will contribute to the development of Rwanda’s related fields.” In line with the central government, which has been actively supporting projects such as cooperation projects, we will contribute to the development of Rwanda by demonstrating our capabilities at the local government level in the future.”

 

In the future, the city plans to spread advanced cases related to intelligent cities and city construction abroad, such as actively attracting training courses for overseas public officials, and accelerate the city's status on the overseas stage.
