'Saemangeum Metabus Experience Hall', the first offline metabus experience center in Korea where you can experience realistic digital contents, has opened.

On the 19th, Jeonbuk-do held the opening ceremony of 'Saemangeum Metabus Experience Hall' in Buan, attended by 100 people including Kim Jong-hoon, Vice Governor of Economy, Ministry of Science and ICT officials, provincial council, Buan-gun, Saemangeum Jamboree Organizing Committee and heads of related organizations.

In 2019, after it was confirmed as an MSIT national project for the purpose of creating an exhibition/experience hall for promoting digital content technology for participants of the 「2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree」, it was built with a total project cost of KRW 1 billion (3 billion from the government, 213 billion from the provincial budget, and 97 billion from the military) with one basement floor and three floors above the ground in the Buan Renewable Energy Complex near the Jamboree site.

The 'Saemangeum Metaverse Experience Hall' consists of a total of three exhibition halls, including the Metaverse Technology Hall, the Metaverse Life Hall, and the Virtual World Hall.

The metaverse life hall on the first floor utilized simulators with various virtual world technologies so that you can experience the future life that will change to the metaverse in advance, and the metaverse technology hall on the second floor is composed of graphics, videos, actual exhibitions, and operation models to understand and experience the technical principles of virtual convergence technology.

The Virtual World Hall, which connects the first and second floors, is the largest cylindrical media art space in Korea with a height of 1m and a diameter of 2m.

During the Jamboree, the experience hall will be operated as one of the event experience programs so that 150 participants from 4 countries can experience Korea's digital content technology. After the Jamboree, it will be operated as an experience space for school experience programs and general viewing.

Oh Taek-rim, director of the future industry bureau of Jeonbuk-do, said, "I expect that it will be an opportunity to directly experience the metabus, which is attracting attention due to the development of information and communication technology, and to increase the understanding of technology."
