Prevention of lonely deaths in advance·Expect synergies with existing businesses such as elimination of blind spots

Governor Kim Kwan-young, "prevention business·We will continue to develop a response system"

Jeonbuk Province has decided to join forces with Naver to take a preemptive step in preventing social isolation and dying alone.

North Jeolla Province announced on the 23rd that it had signed a business agreement to implement an artificial intelligence (AI) safety call service (Naver Clova Care Call) in the meeting room of the provincial government office, with Governor Kim Kwan-young, Naver Co.

This agreement was introduced by the province to preemptively respond to social isolation and lonely death as a social issue due to the recent increase in single-person households and the weakening of family care functions, and will be implemented on a trial basis from July.

‘AI Safety Call Service (Naver Clova Care Call)’ is a care service that utilizes the Naver Clova platform, a private cloud, to make AI calls once a week to those at risk of dying alone to ask about their health, meals, sleep, exercise, going out, etc., and to check their safety.

In particular, it is equipped with a 'Remember' function that remembers previous conversations and uses them for the next call, so that personalized conversations can be continued.

As a result, it is expected that it will contribute to solving the blind spot of lonely death that cannot be discovered despite related projects such as customized care service for the elderly that are currently being promoted.

In order to introduce this care service, the province has selected 4 middle-aged and elderly people who are most vulnerable to dying alone as subjects of demand surveys, related education, and participation in participating cities and counties since last April.

Governor Kim Kwan-young said, “Due to the disintegration of families and the increase in single-person households, lonely deaths and isolated lives are on the rise.”

At the same time, Governor Kim said, “At the provincial level, we will discover various preventive projects and response systems, such as conducting a full enumeration survey to support welfare for socially isolated households.”
