– Seoul Autonomous Police Committee, held a meeting on June 6 (Tuesday) at the CCTV Integrated Control Center in Songpa-gu

– Actively promote the establishment of a tight social safety net by early detection of missing people in the aging era

– Continue “Safe Companion Seoul” through public order and self-governmental governance

□ The Seoul Autonomous Police Commission (Chairperson Kim Hak-bae) visited the CCTV Integrated Control Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul (located in Jamsil 6-dong, Songpa-gu) on June 27 (Tuesday), toured the “missing person high-speed search system” that is being piloted, and held a meeting with officials.

□ The high-speed search system for missing persons is an artificial intelligence (AI) system that uses closed circuit (CC) TVs for crime prevention to automatically and quickly search for missing persons such as children and the elderly with dementia to reduce the time required to find missing persons.

□ If the system is advanced, such as by continuously supplementing and developing the high-speed search system for missing persons, it is expected that the on-site missing person investigation team will be able to find the missing person more quickly and accurately than before, further strengthening the safety of citizens.

□ After the meeting, commendation was given to two civil servants of Songpa-gu Office who had merits such as AI-based 「Finding System for Missing Children and Elderly with Dementia」 and smart city integrated platform, and encouraged them.

□ Kim Hak-bae, head of the Seoul Autonomous Police, said, “In Korea, which has entered an aging era, the number of elderly people with dementia is rapidly increasing, so finding missing people is a very important reality. Early detection of missing people is very important. We will do our best to build a tight social safety net for the safety of citizens.”
