Wonju City announced that it has completed the installation of smart fire notification facilities in 50 places in the Aboriginal Pungmul Market.

□ This project is one of the urban regeneration smart city projects in Jungang-dong. When a fire breaks out in a traditional market, a wireless fire detector detects the cause of the fire and automatically broadcasts a fire alarm.

□ The smart fire notification facility plays a role in notifying fire information by phone and text message to the fire department, market merchant association, and Wonju city personnel at the same time as an alarm.

□ With the establishment of this system, it is possible to minimize damage to life and property as well as secure golden time for first responding in traditional markets, which have been difficult to deal with fires.

□ Previously, last month, officials from Wonju City, the fire department, and merchant associations completed a fire alarm facility inspection to see if it worked, and started full-scale operation from this month after trial operation.

□ An official from Wonju City said, "This project is expected to greatly contribute to protecting the lives and properties of merchants in the traditional market, which are vulnerable to fire, and securing the safety of market users."
