Chungcheongbuk-do Province secured 2 billion won in government funding after two projects, Boeun-gun 'Sharing Life and Joy' and Goesan-gun 'Thousand Year Hanji Rest Area Creation Project', were finally selected for the local demand customized support contest hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. announced on the 50st.

The local demand customized support project is a regional development project that supports projects that can revitalize the region, such as tourist destination support, living base creation, and resident welfare improvement, by utilizing the specialized and unique resources of the region.

 

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport conducts a public contest for cities and counties (growth promotion areas*) belonging to seven provinces, excluding the metropolitan area, metropolitan cities, and Jeju Island, and conducts written and on-site examinations and presentation evaluations for projects applied by each local government. A total of seven cities and counties**, including Boeun and Goesan-gun in North Chungcheong Province, were finally selected through a three-step evaluation.

In North Chungcheong Province, Okcheon-gun and Goesan-gun were selected last year, and two counties were selected this year, securing 2 billion won in government funding.

 

In particular, Goesan-gun was selected as Chungbuk's No. 1 in the last regional vitality town project and secured 81 billion won from the national budget, followed by being selected for the local demand customized support project for two consecutive years.

 

The selected Boeun-gun 'Outdoor to Share Living and Joy' project is a project planned to support the settlement of existing residents and new inflows in response to the increase in the population moving into the region and the demand for returning to farming and returning to villages.

 

In Boeun-gun, houses (20 units for rent) are created for households who wish to settle down after living in the area for a certain period of time, and nearby Eoulim Center, Eoulmteo, Healing Garden, public parking lot, opening roads, laying water and sewage pipes, etc. It plans to promote infrastructure maintenance, supply sedentary housing using vacant houses after the lease period expires, and promote farmland rental for returning farmers and villagers.

 

The Goesan-gun 'Thousand Years Hanji Rest Area' creation project establishes a Hanji workshop in Wonpung-ri, Yeonpung-myeon, which is specialized in the cultivation of paper mulberry trees and production of Hanji, in connection with the Hanji Experience Museum and Shinpoong Hanji Village, and operates a program to vitalize the Hanji culture industry. It is a project to support the cultural industry and job creation facilities, such as creating a complex cultural experience space made of Hanji.

 

To this end, it is expected that a complex cultural space will be created to expand the hanji cultural industry with a specialized strategy that makes use of differentiation, such as handmade paper production and national intangible cultural asset hanji jang, vitalize local experiential tourism, generate non-farm income, and build a regionally specialized economic model. .
