Applied to 16 boarding gates… Registration must be completed 30 minutes before using the mobile app registration service

On the 28th, the 'Face Recognition Pass Service', which allows passengers to quickly exit the departure hall without taking out their boarding pass, started at Incheon International Airport on the XNUMXth.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and Incheon International Airport Corporation started pilot operation of the Smart Pass service on the same day.

Smart Pass is a service that uses advanced facial recognition technology to quickly go through the identity verification process without showing a passport or boarding pass to a security officer. First of all, it is applied to 6 departure halls and 16 boarding gates at Incheon International Airport.

The level of aviation security is expected to increase significantly as it uses biometric information that is difficult to forge, alter, or copy.

To use this service, you must register your facial recognition information on the mobile app or at the self-check-in kiosk at the airport 30 minutes before using the service. It is valid for 5 years from the date of first registration.

Procedure for using facial recognition smart pass service

Even if you use registered facial recognition information, you must have your passport and boarding pass. The departure hall can be used regardless of the airline, but the boarding gate is only available for some participating airlines.

Incheon International Airport Corporation plans to operate a publicity booth to introduce the smart pass service to travelers during the summer peak season.
