The Smart City Index is a survey conducted by MOLIT since last July to determine the level of smartization of cities across the country. It evaluated 7 items that actively utilized national statistics and public data and 23 items submitted by local governments. As a result, Dalseo-gu was selected as the only top 24 excellent local government in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region among 226 basic local governments nationwide.

MOLIT invited Dalseo-gu, Seoul's Seongdong-gu, and Gimhae-si among the selected excellent local governments as panelists for the discussion session on the results of the smart city index pilot project, and Dalseo-gu's Planning and Coordination Office Director Kim San-ju attended and shared the district's best smart city cases.

The discussion was held as a side event of the 6 World Smart City Expo, the largest smart city event in the Asia-Pacific region, held at KINTEX in Ilsan for three days from the 8th to the 3th. Smart city index and certification system experts, excellent local governments, MOLIT, etc. attended to discuss the index. We discussed policies and ways to utilize them.

Meanwhile, Dalseo-gu established the region's first smart strategy team in September 2020, and was selected as the first Daegu-Gyeongbuk basic local government in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's "9 Smart City Certification" evaluation last year, and has been selected as the first local government in Daegu-Gyeongbuk since 2022. We are currently pursuing 2020 smart city projects worth 100 billion won, including municipal expenses. In addition, next year, the department plans to be promoted to a smart city department with five teams to lead future innovation and disseminate innovative services that are more tangible.
