North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment (NHSC), a consortium of Sumitomo and BRG Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the smart city development project on the 11th and began the project in earnest.
The smart city project developed by NHSC covers an area of 3 million m270 in three areas, including Hai Boi Xa (town level), Vinh Ngoc, and Kim No, Dong Anh District, Hanoi. The goal is to develop large-scale cities with smart solutions applied to six major sectors: ▲energy ▲transportation ▲management ▲education ▲economy ▲life.
The project will be divided into five stages, and completion is scheduled for 5. Among these, the 2032th phase of the project, which is scheduled to be completed within the next 7 years, will include green spaces, houses, schools, parking lots, and other structures, and the 4th phase of the project, which will be carried out for 2030 years from 2, will be a complex shopping mall and a 5-story financial building that will become a smart city landmark. At the groundbreaking ceremony on this day, Duong Duc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee, said, “The smart city project is located on Nhat Tan, Thang Long and Long Bien Bridges in the northern part of the Hong River. “It is a project located in a key location along Vo Nguyen Giap Road, connected to downtown Hanoi, Tay Ho, and Noi Bai International Airport,” he said. “The smart city development project is expected to improve the city’s transportation and “We look forward to helping solve major infrastructure issues such as energy, education, healthcare, and the environment.”

Sumitomo and BRG agreed to jointly develop a smart city in northern Hanoi as part of the 'Nhat Tan-Noi Bai Belt Development Plan' in mid-2017.
Sumitomo, which entered Vietnam in 1995, currently operates in addition to Hanoi, Thang Long Industrial Complex 1 and 2 in Hung Yen Province, Ho Chi Minh City Subway Line 1, Pha Lai Thermal Power Plant, and Phu My 2-2 Thermal Power Plant. ), and is participating in the construction of Duyen Hai 3 thermal power plant.
