Transform simple and repetitive administrative and public tasks into a creative and innovative work-intensive system by automating them.

We plan to develop 7 work automation tasks by discovering tasks for all departments.

– Promotion of automation in areas such as transportation, environment, construction, and autonomous legal affairs

As early as November, Gyeonggi Province will introduce a 'Robotic Process Automation (RPA) system' in which simple and repetitive administrative tasks are automatically processed by an artificial intelligence (AI) program.

The business automation (RPA) system is based on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, and the program automates tasks by entering repeated processing procedures for each task. For example, certain procedures (processes) that handle simple and repetitive tasks, such as processing civil servants on duty or organizing data, are automated through programs to increase work efficiency and speed. It is being introduced by private companies and some local governments, and is scheduled to be introduced for the first time in Gyeonggi Province.

The province will select a service company to operate the business automation (RPA) system in June and proceed with building business automation (RPA) for seven of the tasks selected by Gyeonggi Province. Previously, the province conducted a demand survey and self-discovery for all departments to discover 6 tasks for a total of 7 departments. The final 14 will be finalized through internal review of construction adequacy and effectiveness, selection of business operators, and consulting.

The areas targeted for automation construction include transportation, environment, construction, and autonomous legal affairs, and will be used in actual work as soon as the RPA construction is completed by November.

Lee Hee-jun, head of Gyeonggi-do Planning and Coordination Office, said, “By establishing a work automation system, Gyeonggi-do will be able to become the center of digital change and innovation in work methods, both in name and reality.” He added, “Employees will be able to focus the time saved by automated work methods on creative and innovative work. “We look forward to providing significantly improved provincial government services to provincial residents,” he said.
