❏ Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is fully implementing a ‘smart elderly care service’ utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to ensure the safety and emotional support of elderly people living alone.
❍ This service provides various services such as a companion function, music appreciation, medication reminders, and psychological counseling for inappropriate speech by distributing ‘AI care speakers’ to seniors living alone.
– In particular, in emergency situations such as “Save me,” “Save me,” and “Help me,” voices are recognized and 119 is quickly connected to provide assistance.
❍ In addition, through the ‘AI Care Call’, we make phone calls twice a week to check on the safety of the elderly, and dedicated staff monitor the conversations to connect them with necessary services.
❏ In addition, Jeju Island plans to collaborate with the Jeju Regional Korea Meteorological Administration starting this summer to send heat wave impact forecasts through AI care speakers ('Sosik Tok Tok' function) and provide guidance on risk levels and behavioral tips to enhance heat wave response capabilities so that elderly people living alone can live safely.
❏ Jeju Island Welfare and Family Bureau Director Kang In-cheol said, “This project will help ensure the safety of the elderly living alone and prevent social isolation through emotional support,” and added, “We will continue to provide various care services so that the elderly can enjoy a safe and convenient daily life.”
