□ Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-jun visited Daedo Hygen Co., Ltd. (located in Sasang-gu) at 26 a.m. today (10th) and held a meeting with representatives of leading local hydrogen companies to promote the supply of eco-friendly hydrogen vehicles.
○ Representatives and executives of leading local hydrogen companies Daedo Transportation Co., Ltd., Daedo Hygen Co., Ltd., and Yeongdo Industrial Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.
□ This meeting was prepared to actively reflect the voices of the hydrogen industry in the city's hydrogen ecosystem development policy and jointly seek policy support measures needed by these companies.
○ Daedo Hygen Co., Ltd. and Daedo Transportation Co., Ltd. cooperated with Hyundai Motor Company through the 'Ministry of Environment Hydrogen City Pilot Project' in 2019 to build the nation's first private-led urban hydrogen charging station and introduced five hydrogen buses for the first time in Busan.
○ Daedo Hygen Co., Ltd. is currently expanding the Haksan hydrogen charging station and building and operating a hydrogen charging station in Yeongdo-gu.
○ Daedo Transportation Co., Ltd. operates 39 hydrogen buses, the largest in the country as a single transportation company, and plans to continue to increase the hydrogen mobility conversion rate in the future.
○ Youngdo Industrial Co., Ltd. is a hydrogen specialized company (MOTIE designation) located in Gangseo-gu that manufactures industrial hydrogen valves.
□ On this day, Mayor Park conveyed the city's commitment to fostering a hydrogen ecosystem, including building hydrogen infrastructure, and requested that the industry also focus its capabilities together with the city.
○ As the driving force that will accelerate the development of the hydrogen ecosystem is hydrogen mobility, we are doing our best to distribute hydrogen buses and build charging infrastructure to support them. In order to achieve the 2050 carbon neutral goal, we are also distributing hydrogen buses, which have a significant greenhouse gas reduction effect. He explained that he plans to further expand it.
○ In particular, it was announced that we will increase the conversion rate of hydrogen buses by preparing various financial and policy support measures and discovering a leading model for distributing Busan-type hydrogen vehicles.
○ Currently, there are 9 hydrogen charging stations (17 units) in the city, and there are plans to build hydrogen charging stations at 2025 locations (13 units) by 32. 2 hydrogen cars were distributed.
□ Representatives of hydrogen companies agreed with the city's will to foster a hydrogen ecosystem, and responded that the industry would join forces with the city to foster a hydrogen ecosystem.
○ In addition, in order to foster a hydrogen ecosystem, more full support must be provided from the government and local governments, and it was requested that citizens' consensus on the safety of hydrogen be increased.
□ Following the meeting on this day, Mayor Park directly inspected the safety management system at the Daedo Haizen hydrogen charging station site and confirmed that the hydrogen charging station is managed safely to the point where citizens can rest assured.
□ Mayor Park Hyeong-jun said, “As the core of fostering a hydrogen ecosystem is mobility, our city is doing its best to supply hydrogen vehicles, expand infrastructure, and foster the hydrogen industry.” He added, “We will realize carbon neutrality by 2050 and develop an innovative hydrogen industry.” “We will continue to work together with local hydrogen leaders to create a leading model,” he said.
○ In addition, he said, “We are sincerely grateful to local hydrogen companies who have always played a leading role in our city’s hydrogen policy, and we will not spare any support in fostering our city’s hydrogen industry in the future.”
