□ Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-joon) announced that it successfully promoted Busan's smart city capabilities on the international stage by participating in the "2025 Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC)" held in Barcelona, Spain from November 4th to 6th (local time), comprehensively promoting the "2026 World Smart City Expo (WSCE)" to be held in Busan next year, and showcasing the innovative technologies of local companies.
□ 'Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC)' is the world's largest smart city international exhibition held annually in Barcelona, Spain. It is a global platform where ▲government agencies from each country ▲cities ▲global companies participate to share technologies and policies for designing future cities and build cooperative networks.
○ The exhibition consists of ▲ an exhibition of the latest smart technologies and services ▲ a business program for purchasing and export consultations ▲ an international conference with participation from industry, academia, research institutes, and government, and is positioned as a venue for sharing smart technologies and policies of global cities.
□ The city participated as the 'Korea Pavilion' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (Minister Kim Yoon-deok), introducing the '2025 World Smart City Expo (WSCE)' held for the first time by a local government at BEXCO in July, and focused on promoting the '2026 World Smart City Expo (WSCE)' to be held in Busan next year.

○ In particular, Roen Korea's on-device GPS-based traffic accident interpretation technology 'iGil' has discussed collaboration plans with ▲the Turkish Federal Government ▲PTT·Westier, a company affiliated with the Irish government ▲Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau in Taiwan ▲Tper, an Italian public transportation company, and additional discussions are planned following the product launch in January next year.
□ In addition, the forum on “Busan as a Smart City Pilot City and Smart Innovation Technology” hosted by the city included presentations on ▲Busan as a Smart City Pilot City ▲Busan’s smart transportation and safety sectors ▲introduction of regional innovation through the Busan-type RISE project.

□ Meanwhile, the World Smart City Expo (WSCE) is Asia's largest smart city exhibition, jointly promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and the Ministry of Science and ICT since 2017 to share smart city technologies and innovations from around the world.
○ Busan City was selected as the host city for 2025 on December 30th of last year (2024) and successfully hosted the '2025 World Smart City Expo' from July 15th to 17th of this year. 277 organizations from 54 countries and 42,958 visitors participated in the event.
○ In addition, the city is planning a variety of programs that capture Busan's identity and urban color to mark the 10th anniversary of the World Smart City Expo next year, and is working with BEXCO, the co-host of the World Smart City Expo, to promote it to major global cities and companies such as Barcelona, Yokohama, and Tallinn, thereby working to enhance the international status of the 2026 World Smart City Expo (WSCE).
