Suwon will build an integrated energy management system using IoT (Internet of Things) for all public buildings by the end of this year.
Suwon was selected by the Ministry of Science and ICT for the commercialization of IoT products and services this year under the theme of 'IoT-based public energy integrated energy management system development'. 'IoT-based public building integrated energy management system development' is a project to maximize the energy consumption efficiency of 47 public buildings including city hall, ward office, business office, and administrative welfare center by using IoT technology. This project, promoted as one of the'Suwon Smart City Creation Project', is jointly carried out by Suwon City and Ntels, a private business operator, from this month to December. Ntels Co., Ltd. is in charge of system development, and the city acts as a test bed (an environment where performance or effects of new technologies, products, and services can be tested). The total project cost of 12 billion won will be covered by the national fund of 6 million won, 4 million won by private businesses, and 2 million won by the government. The main goal of the project is to reduce unnecessary energy consumption in the building with an integrated management system in which all energy facilities of the public building and artificial intelligence (AI) work in real time. Detailed projects include ▲ real-time monitoring of energy consumption, ▲ generation of big data related to energy consumption based on various monitoring standards such as maximum power demand and building size, ▲ big data analysis using artificial intelligence, and forecasting energy consumption. The city expects that the IoT-based integrated energy management system will be able to spread to civilian buildings within the building once it is successfully established and proved effective in public buildings. An official from Suwon said, “If the system is established, we will be able to grasp all of the city's public buildings' energy use at a glance and manage energy efficiently.” Policy to advance our city to become the best smart city nationwide. I will continue to explore the business. ” Suwon has established advanced smart cities such as' Smart City CCTV Integrated Platform 'using intelligent CCTV for sustainable urban development and citizens' quality of life, and' Smart Lane City Suwon ', which is creating a eco-friendly water circulation city with IoT technology. Promoting business. The Smart City TF in the City Policy Office, which was formed in April, prepared the 'Suwon-type Smart City Creation Plan' and participated in the 'Smart City National Strategic Project Demonstration City Selection Contest' promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, Ministry of Science and ICT.
