Goyang, Goyang Urban Regeneration Support Center and Communication Knowledge Group Inpirut held '14 Goyang Urban Regeneration Plato Event' at the KINTEX Exhibition Hall 15 from the 1th to the 2018th to find innovative ways of urban regeneration.
Urban regeneration Plato is a mix of planner, player and marathon. At the event, participants from other regions such as Paju and Gimpo near Goyang City, Seoul, Anyang, Ansan, Siheung, Icheon, and Changwon gathered together to find ways to promote urban regeneration. Chung Gwang-seop, director of the Goyang City Regeneration Support Center, who hosted the event, said, “This event was designed to accurately diagnose the current status and problems of Goyang city regeneration and to find innovative solutions that can be implemented in the medium to long term.” And various interesting ideas and ways to implement such as applying community-based smart city technology, connecting life-type SOC, utilizing idle spaces in the city, starting a culture and arts youth, and reviving landscaped cities. ”
On the other hand, three teams were selected based on the feasibility, feasibility, ripple effect and creativity of various ideas proposed by the participating teams.
The grand prize for the project's 500 million won was awarded by the Youth Culture Salon Garmac House to revitalize local communities such as Goyang-dong residents and middle school students. The Grand Prize, which is awarded 300 million won in project support, is the 'Star Sand Planning Group' which proposes cultural and artistic activities using the public parking lot in Seongsa-dong. Follow-up support is expected to continue immediately. The Goyang City Urban Regeneration Support Center plans to provide incubation, customized mentoring for each idea, and project cost support from October to December, which can lead to actual business promotion and start-up, centering on the participating teams selected on this day. Incubating and mentoring involve urban regeneration experts, entrepreneurs, and institutions that have been recognized for a long time in the actual field. In particular, it plans to directly develop and apply customized curriculum and implementation programs based on collaboration with the city, Goyang City Urban Regeneration Support Center, and Inpiroute.
An official from the city said, “The administration will also continue to give generous support to ensure that the ideas and implementation plans derived from the Goyang City Regeneration Plato Event are actively realized.”
