Bucheon City participates in the '9 Smart City Summit Asia' held at KINTEX in Ilsan from September 18th to 20th to publicize its capabilities as a smart city at home and abroad. At this event, the city signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, LH and the 'Theme-type Specialized Complex Master Plan Establishment Support Project' and operates the 'Smart City Bucheon Public Relations Hall'.

 

Bucheon City was selected as a'Clean Bucheon Smart City' project for the theme-type specialized complex support project promoted by MOLIT. It is a project to discover a problem solving model by monitoring fine dust using ICT and establishing governance for citizen participation. Four local governments, including Bucheon City, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Gimhae City, will participate, and among them, 4 billion won will be awarded through the year-end evaluation.

 

In the 'Smart City Bucheon PR Center', 'Smart Bucheon! It announces Bucheon's smart city vision called Changing Life and introduces differentiated smart city models in Bucheon including the cloud-based bus information system (BIS) business model, the Bucheon IoT Innovation Center, and the smart remote meter reading system.

 

In addition, the smart city functions will be combined with the original urban regeneration and urban development projects to be pursued in the future, and a Bucheon-type smart city blueprint will be presented to satisfy citizens.

 

Bucheon Mayor Jang Deok Chun will be the Minister of Ministry of Science and ICT and Son Byeong-seok, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, who visited the PR Center on April 18. He explained his ambition to become a leader in sustainable smart cities by explaining plans to attract IoT and LED light convergence companies and research institutes to the cluster (B · BIC-1 · 1 · 2).

 

On the other hand, Bucheon City, which built the bus information system for the first time in the nation in 2000, has been spotlighted by presenting a smart city business model by transferring bus know-hows in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia as well as in Korea such as Seosan, Namwon, Okcheon, and Boeun.

 

In addition, based on the Bucheon-type smart city construction basic plan, a new city dedicated to smart city business will be established, and a city information integrated operation center will be established in the future to establish a Bucheon-type smart city by discovering and solving urban problems using big data.
