Busan City, along with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, announced that it would hold a contest for the 'National Demonstration City Regulatory Sandbox Activation Project' to implement various new technologies and services of the 4th Industrial Revolution in connection with the Eco Delta Smart City national pilot city from June 6 to July 25.

The'Regulatory Sandbox Revitalization Project' is a project to support companies with regulatory special cases and demonstration project costs in packages so that they can experiment with core services contained in the National Demonstration City Service Roadmap 1.0 established in December last year without any restrictions on regulations.

In the 'National Demonstration City Regulatory Sandbox Activation Project', 9 companies were selected through the first public offering in September last year and supported business plan establishment and design costs (11 ~ 2 million won). In August of this year, if the business plan is approved after deliberation by the National Smart City Committee, the regulatory exception will be applied for a limited time (within 3 years, can be extended once). In addition, some excellent projects will be supported with a demonstration project cost of around 8 million won for one year.

Unlike last year, this year's project does not support the cost of establishing a business plan, but plans to provide subsidy for the project approved for special regulations through the regulatory sandbox. The competition method will be conducted in the'Designated Competition' and'Free Announcement' methods for the services included in the National Model City Service Road Map 1.0. 'Designated Competition' is a public offering by designating 4 services such as health tokens (2 health care, 1 energy, 1 robot), and'Free Competition' is a creative idea for companies with service technology excluding service designated fields You can suggest to your heart's content.

Companies with creative ideas and innovative technologies will provide opportunities to participate in the project in a variety of forms, such as singles or associations (consortiums), and will give additional points to local companies in order to enhance the vitality of the local industrial ecosystem.

The contest period is from June 6th to July 25th, and selection is made through written and presentation evaluations and deliberation on special cases in regulations. Companies wishing to apply for this project can prepare application documents such as a business plan and visit the Korea Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Agency from 7:27 am on July 7 to 27:9 pm on July 7.
