4 companies in Sejong and 2 companies in Busan submitted a letter of intent to participate

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport are four companies including Hyundai Motor, KT, LG CNS, and RMS Consortium in Sejong National Pilot Smart City, and two companies including Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and LG CNS in Busan National Pilot Smart City* He said that he submitted a letter of intent to participate in the SPC contest as a qualification.
* Qualifications of SPC CEOs: Limited to a solution company with expertise in building and operating smart services among companies with a credit rating of A0 or higher (construction and financial companies are not allowed)

The submission of this letter of intent to participate* is the result of the reception following the SPC contest** that started last April, and it is confirmed that various industries related to smart cities such as mobility, data, communication, energy, and IT show wide interest.
* Submission period is given for 4.1 months after the preliminary announcement (3) and 4.29 months after the main announcement (2)
** For the construction and operation of a national pilot smart city, it is for public and private SPC construction.

In particular, it seems that at least 50 smart solution companies, including large, medium and small-sized startups, construction companies, and financial companies are participating in the consortium review with representatives.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport plans to sign a business implementation agreement for SPC operation through public-private negotiations after selecting a preferred bidder in October after receiving a business plan proposal in September, and preparing an evaluation plan in consideration of expertise and fairness so that innovative companies that can create and operate world-class smart cities can be selected.

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Park Jin-ho, head of the Smart City Team, said, “The result of this letter of intent is to confirm the necessity and future growth potential of smart cities in the post-corona era despite the long-term investment burden of the company in the corona situation. "We are planning to make continuous efforts to expand the public sector support so that the successful public-private joint SPC will be launched and related businesses will grow," he said.
