Final selection of “Sejong O1 Consortium” as SPC private sector business owners

 

□ The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation negotiated with the “Sejong O5 Consortium (CEO LG CNS)” through a public offering for the Sejong Smart City National pilot smart city (Sejong 1-1 living area) SPC private sector business entity. It was revealed that it was finally selected as the target.

 

□ This selection of the preferred bidder is the result of the National pilot smart city SPC company contest* that started last April (announced on April 4, business plan received on September 4.29),

* With the aim of forming a private and public business corporation (SPC) that will establish and operate a smart city National pilot smart city, public offering of innovative technology is offered in a way to maximize the innovativeness of private companies.

ㅇ In order to secure fairness and expertise in evaluation, a pool of evaluation members was formed by receiving recommendations from relevant ministries for each specialized field.

ㅇ On the day of evaluation, 13 evaluation committee members (1 members) selected through a lottery reviewed and evaluated the business plan for two days (2~10.7), and finally selected a consortium for priority negotiations on October 8 (Thu).

 

□ Sejong National pilot smart city SPC is composed of public sector businesses (Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Sejong Special Self-Governing City) and private sector businesses (consortium), and provides detailed information on SPC operation through private-public negotiations as soon as possible. It is a plan* to be finalized.

* (Future procedure) Selection of right-of-way targets → Private-public negotiations → Signing a project implementation agreement → Launching SPC

ㅇ When SPC is launched in earnest, the national pilot smart city is expected to become a future city model that implements the 4th industrial revolution new technology and citizen-sense innovative service.
