– 3 urban regeneration areas (Mok 3-dong, Doksan Dongwoo Market, Shinwol 3-dong) Resolving local problems with smart technology
– LED landfill on both sides of the crosswalk to prevent pedestrian accidents at night
– This year's Seoul 25 Urban Regeneration Project Awards Competition until 3.12… Support up to 12 billion won each

□ The city of Seoul has applied smart technology to parking lots, crosswalks, and alleyways in urban renewal New Deal areas with poor infrastructure to solve local problems that residents want.

□ A'runway type crosswalk' was installed in Mok 3-dong, Yangcheon-gu, where crosswalks were usually difficult to see at night. LED lights that turn on automatically at night are buried like runway guide lights on both sides of the crosswalk to prevent pedestrian accidents. In addition, a surveillance camera equipped with a sensor is being installed in a place that has suffered from the habitual unauthorized dumping of trash to broadcast public warnings.

□ These changes were realized through the “Life-oriented Urban Regeneration Smart Technology Support Project” launched last year by Seoul City and MOLIT. It is a project to improve living conditions in areas with weak infrastructure such as safety and firefighting, transportation, energy and environment, and life and welfare by solving local problems discovered by residents with smart technology that is highly sensible and easy to commercialize.

□ Last year, three urban renewal New Deal project sites (Mok 3-dong, Doksan-dong cow market, and Sinwol 3-dong) were selected as the city's first target sites and are pursuing the project. 3 billion won was invested in each of the two locations selected for the smart technology support project (Mok 2-dong and Doksan-dong cow market), and 3 billion won was invested in one location selected for the smart city regeneration project (Sinwol 12-dong).

□ Mok 3-dong is a runway-type crosswalk and trash dumping surveillance camera, as well as 5 projects (▴Non-face-to-face 24-hour uninspired mart library ▴Kebi Market Smart Pedestrian Service ▴Safe Road Project ▴Smart Separate Collection Service ▴Smart House Repair One-Stop Platform construction, etc.) are in progress.

□ In Doksan-dong cow market ▴IoT-based smart rain gutter service to improve the environment such as odor ▴Create a safe and bright smart street ▴Install'Artificial Intelligence Pedestrian Alert' to create a safe alleyway ▴'Runway-type crosswalk' on a no-signal crosswalk Projects such as installation are in progress.

□ Shinwol 3-dong is planning to implement projects such as ▴zero CCTV blind spots ▴smart parking sharing system ▴artificial intelligence recycling and recycling bins ▴solar power generator and mobility charging station installation ▴public Wi-Fi zone and smart bench construction.

□ This year, the city also announced that it would start a public contest for the "Life-friendly Urban Regeneration Smart Technology Support Project" for 25 urban regeneration New Deal projects in Seoul to improve infrastructure. Applications are received by the city's regeneration policy department (application from the autonomous district of the project site) by March 3 (Fri), and the final destination is selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport in April.
○ Out of 28 Seoul New Deal project sites, 2 sites were excluded, including two selected for the last year's smart technology support project (Mok 3-dong, Doksan-dong cow market) and one selected for smart urban regeneration (Shinwol 1-dong).

□ A maximum of 12 billion won (5 million won for government and 5 million won for city and district) will be invested in the selected project sites. Seoul Metropolitan Government and MOLIT plan to select projects with excellent tangible effects and have specific action plans that can be resolved efficiently in a short period of time.

□ Hoon Ryu, head of the Urban Regeneration Office of Seoul, said, “The purpose of this project is to dramatically improve infrastructure facilities that have been inadequate in each region by applying smart technology.” “We can dramatically improve the living conditions of residents of the Urban Regeneration New Deal Project Area. We look forward to your interest and participation.”
